Las Vegas police have arrested a 14-year-old suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy on Friday evening.
According to a press release, officers responded to a call of shots fired at approximately 8:42 pm in the 3900 block of N. Nellis Boulevard. Upon arrival, they discovered a 15-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. He was transported to University Medical Center where he was tragically pronounced dead.
Investigators believe the victim was attempting to purchase narcotics when he was shot. Several individuals armed with guns reportedly opened fire on the victim while he was still in his car.
Following an investigation, a 14-year-old suspect was apprehended on Friday. Due to the suspect being a minor, his identity is not being released. However, authorities confirmed he has been booked into Clark County Juvenile Hall and faces multiple felony charges, including open murder with a deadly weapon.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with illegal drug activity and the tragic consequences it can have, especially when young people are involved.
