LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe)- Tuesday saw a police raid at a local mall due to claims that at least one business was peddling fake goods, including prescription drugs.
Timo Kuusela, the mall’s general manager and vice president, stated El Mercado, which is housed in the mall and is close to Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway, was the suspected location of the sale of illegal narcotics and fake goods.
On Tuesday afternoon, a number of police agencies were present at the mall. According to Kuusela, authorities detained two persons after arriving about midday to execute a search warrant.
Kussela claimed that he was contacted by law police some months ago seeking information about specific El Mercado dealers.
I’m not sure how they were made aware of the problem, but a few months ago, they asked me about a few merchants, and we gave them complete cooperation, he said. “We were glad that everything went off without a hitch and we want to see the rules enforced just like everyone else.”
Overall, four firms were raided, claims Kuusela. Through the whole attack, the mall remained open. The names of those detained have not been made public by the authorities.
