A Motorcyclist Died in a Three-Car Crash Tuesday in Southwest Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – LVMPD says a motorcyclist was killed in a three-car collision in the southwest Las Vegas valley on Tuesday afternoon.

It was at 4 o’clock when police were called to the scene of a crash on West Russell Road and South Buffalo Drive.

Evidence at the scene, as well as testimonies from the driver and witnesses, indicated that a 2017 GMC Acadia was in the left turn lane of Russell Road as it approached the junction with Buffalo Drive.

A 2009 Ford Crown Victoria and a 2005 Honda CBR 600 motorcycle were both headed west on Russell Road, both approaching the same crossroads.

The GMC allegedly entered the intersection and started to make a left turn onto Buffalo Drive. The Honda and the Ford both drove into the junction in the same direction at the same moment.

The rider of the Honda lost control and was flung from the bike. The GMC rear-ended the motorcycle rider, and then it rear-ended the Ford.

According to the police, everyone in the vehicles stopped and dialed 9-1-1.

The 29-year-old biker was pronounced deceased at the site after emergency responders assessed his condition.

The police report that both the GMC and Ford drivers remained at the scene and neither was suspected of being under the influence.

The LVMPD reports that this is the 132nd traffic-related fatality for the year 2022.
