A Teen Cyclist Was Seriously Hurt When He Was Hit by a Car Early on Monday Morning
LAS VEGAS – A 15-year-old bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after an incident with a vehicle early Monday morning, according to Las Vegas police.
According to a press release issued by the police, the incident occurred at 5:42 a.m. near the intersection of South Cimarron Road and West Rochelle Avenue.
At the time of the incident, a white 2017 Ford Escape was heading south on Cimarron Road in the single-through traffic lane near the intersection with Rochelle Avenue. A juvenile on a bicycle was traveling east on Rochelle Avenue toward Cimarron Road.
Police said that a crash occurred when the young biker entered the path of travel of the Ford.
The cyclist’s injuries were so severe that he had to be taken to University Medical Center Trauma.
According to LVMPD, the driver of the Ford remained on the site and did not demonstrate any symptoms of impairment.
The police say they are still looking into the crash.
