LAS VEGAS – The Clark County Fire Department has announced that the cause of the fire that destroyed approximately 50 cars at a junkyard near Lamb and I-15 on April 25 was due to sparks created while stacking vehicles.
According to the email from Warren Whitney, deputy fire chief, the workers at the facility confirmed that the incident occurred due to the sparks.
The fire department had to use elevated master streams to tackle the blaze, and a water tender from Nellis Air Force Base also responded to assist.
The estimated loss of property and contents due to the fire is around $10,000.
