LAS VEGAS – The Clark County Fire Department is currently investigating the cause of a fire that occurred near the University District and extended to the outside of portable buildings. The incident took place on Monday at approximately 2:20 p.m., following an initial report of a tree fire in the 2000 block of E. Viking Road, which is located near E. Flamingo Road and S. Eastern Avenue.
Upon receiving multiple calls regarding more than one fire, fire crews quickly responded to the scene. The fire had already spread to the outside of a building when they arrived, prompting the request for additional resources.
Fortunately, the fire has been extinguished and is contained to the outside of the portable buildings. There were no reported injuries, and an assessment of the damage is currently pending.
A significant response effort was mobilized, with a total of two trucks, ten engines, two rescues, two battalion chiefs, and the air resource unit dispatched to the scene. A total of 55 firefighters were involved in the incident, working diligently to control the fire and prevent further escalation.
The Clark County Fire Department will continue its investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
