The district’s cybersecurity breach was first detected on October 5 and was related to its email environment. Upon discovery, CCSD promptly initiated an investigation with a team of forensic experts to assess the situation and secure its email system. The district is also collaborating with law enforcement to assist in their investigation.
According to a statement released by CCSD, the ongoing investigation suggests that the cyber attacker gained access to “limited personal information.” However, specific details about the nature of this information were not provided.
