LAS VEGAS – In an effort to bolster safety across its campuses, the Clark County School District (CCSD) is expanding the presence of police officers to middle school locations. Previously, the focus had been primarily on high schools, but the district is now introducing new safety improvements by assigning officers to middle schools as well.
CCSD Police Lieutenant Bryan Zink shared insights about the comprehensive safety measures that will be in effect for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.
Acknowledging the need for enhanced security, CCSD has officially announced the establishment of a dedicated “middle school division.” The current plan involves deploying three officers across three distinct regions within the county. This strategic allocation of resources aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff throughout the district.

168 CCSDPD officers and three? An I reading this right? Where are the officers being deployed? To high risk schools or not. Am I reading this correctly that it’s the number 3?
So 80 middle schools in CCSD with a student population of 1000 minimum are to benefit from 3 CCSDPD officers? How does this make any sense.
The defund the police movement has hurt communities and I hope and pray that things can be restored and resolved for our communities.
