LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – As according officials, an older couple and wife from Las Vegas were discovered dead following an apparent murder-suicide at Death Valley National Park.
The event occurred on January 13 in Death Valley National Park, according to a news statement.
According to authorities, the husband, Paul Fischer, 73, contacted the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office to tell that he had just slain his wife, Mary Fischer, 72.
According to police, the man informed them that his objective was to kill himself and gave the 911 operator instructions on where to locate them. The husband informed authorities that he had placed a letter in their car explaining that his wife had severe health problems.
According to authorities, the incident was responded to by law enforcement officers from the Inyo County Sheriff’s Office, the Inyo County Coroner’s Office, the National Park Service, the California Highway Patrol, and the Bureau of Land Management.
The National Park Service warns visitors that if they are in difficulty, they may phone 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline or go online to 988lifeline.org. Services are provided for free and are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All calls are kept strictly secret.
