Las Vegas, NV – A 19-year-old woman has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the death of a man inside a Las Vegas Strip hotel room.
Emma Kusak, who was 17 at the time of the incident, admitted to shooting Charlie Satrustegui in the head during an altercation at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in June 2023. Following the shooting, police said Kusak stole Satrustegui’s keys, wallet, and phones.
As part of a plea agreement, Judge Jacqueline Bluth sentenced Kusak to 11 to 27-and-a-half years in prison. She will be eligible for parole in 2033 and must also pay over $15,000 in restitution to Satrustegui’s family.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the Las Vegas community and raised concerns about safety on the Strip. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
