Las Vegas, NV – An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for parts of west central Clark County (including the Las Vegas valley), Inyo County, San Bernardino County, and southern Nye County under 4,000 ft in elevation. The warning goes into effect at 11:00 AM on Wednesday and will expand further across the Southwest through 11:00 PM on Monday. High temperatures are expected to range from 107 to 117 degrees, with even higher temperatures possible along the Colorado River Valley and Death Valley.

In Las Vegas, temperatures are forecast to reach 113 degrees on Wednesday, just shy of the record high of 116 degrees set in 1937. The heatwave is expected to intensify over the weekend and into next week, with the potential for record-breaking temperatures on Sunday and Monday. The National Weather Service is forecasting a high of 118 degrees for Las Vegas on Monday, which would surpass the all-time record high.

Residents are advised to take precautions to stay safe in the extreme heat. This includes staying hydrated, avoiding strenuous outdoor activities, and checking on vulnerable family members and neighbors.

Beyond the 7-Day Forecast

Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to remain high in Las Vegas, ranging from 112 to 115 degrees next Wednesday through Friday. Overnight lows will be in the upper 80s to low 90s. There is a chance of regional showers popping up on Thursday and Friday (July 11th and 12th) as monsoonal moisture moves into the area.
