LAS VEGAS – In a tragic incident on Wednesday, June 14, a 63-year-old man lost his life in a crash on southbound Interstate 15, as confirmed by the Nevada State Police (NSP). The victim has been identified as Timothy Anderson, a resident of Las Vegas.
According to the NSP, officers responded to the crash at approximately 3:28 p.m. The collision occurred south of the Russell Road off-ramp, involving a blue Mazda Hatchback driven by Anderson, who was traveling in the middle lane heading south on Interstate 15.
Preliminary investigations indicate that, for reasons yet to be determined, the Mazda veered across the right travel lanes and eventually collided with a decorative rock on the right-side dirt area.
Tragically, Timothy Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
This incident marks the fortieth fatal crash of the year for the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol Southern Command, resulting in a total of 45 fatalities. Authorities continue to work diligently to analyze the circumstances leading to this devastating crash.
