Former Clark County Employee Accused Of Murder Wants To Represent Himself In Court

LAS VEGAS – The former Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles, who is on trial for the murder of an investigative journalist, is back in court for a hearing on whether or not to have his private attorney withdraw from the case.

On Tuesday morning, a judge will hear Telles, 46, present a motion to dismiss his attorney. Telles is being detained without bond on charges of murder in connection with the September 2022 death of Las Vegas Review-Journal journalist Jeff German.

The prosecution claims that Telles singled out German for persecution due to his reporting on corruption within the court administrator’s office

Telles’ lawyer said in a filing earlier this month that his client preferred to act as his own counsel.

In November, his trial will begin.
