LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – A motorist who police say was speeding more than 97 miles per hour in front of a Henderson school before turning onto the sidewalk and killing a kid will be sentenced on Wednesday. The family of Rex Patchett wants the judge to sentence the driver to the maximum penalty and is encouraging the community to attend the hearing to express their support.
“My son, on that street, on that sidewalk, on that day, represents any child that could have been on that sidewalk,” contended Jason Patchett.
Patchett, accompanied by son Luke and daughter Bella, spoke of the awful loss his family has been dealing with for over a year.
