LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – If you’re an artist who enjoys painting butterflies, this may be the perfect project for you, and you could also make some money.
The City of Henderson is asking for an artist to create a Monarch butterfly-themed mural for a new butterfly garden at Henderson’s Bird Viewing Preserve.
Interested artists are invited to design and produce two unique 2D, interactive murals for a two-sided Monarch butterfly garden wall that is now under development. The design should contain larger-than-life wings for guests to appreciate.
The refuge is a 100-acre nature preserve where hundreds of migrating ducks and other resident desert birds may be found. The butterfly garden will serve to boost the Monarch butterfly population while also offering educational opportunities for people.
Up to $6,000 will be awarded to the artist or artist teams.
The deadline for submitting designs is November 15. The art installation will commence on November 28. To register, go here.
