LAS VEGAS – According to investigators, a man was shot and killed by Henderson police on Saturday after he allegedly stole an item from a business and pulled out a gun.
The incident was reported at around 7:10 a.m. when police received information about a theft at a business near Boulder Highway.
Officers approached the man who matched the suspect’s description, but he was uncooperative and walked away while carrying a gun.
He continued until he reached a business, where he put the gun to his head. Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation, but the suspect continued to be unresponsive, and one officer fired his weapon, hitting the man.
The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The identity of the man killed has not been released, and information on the item taken has not been disclosed.
