Hit-And-Run Victim’s Family Discusses the Tragedy’s Impact on the Lives of Several Other People

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – As a family mourns the loss of a loved one who was murdered after being hit by a drunk driver, they reveal how the tragedy is now saving the lives of so many others.

Nina Fauble, 22, was killed in a hit-and-run accident on Thursday at Nellis Boulevard and Harmon Avenue. She was sent to Sunrise Hospital for treatment but did not survive; yet, her memory lives on in others.

“I got a text message at about 10:30 at night and it was someone alerting us that Nina has been struck by a car. There were reports that the vehicle was going 60 miles an hour,”Beschelle Lockhart, Fauble’s mother, stated.

Fauble was pregnant at the time of the incident and suffering from mental illness, so she was living on the streets.

Fauble’s family spoke about her hardships and how, despite her inability to survive, she is now allowing life to continue for numerous others by donating her organs.

“We were looking at her brain function which was non-existent and really had to sit and think about what we were going to do. If our daughter is passing and there is nothing we can do about it, then we can give a gift of life and we want that to be our last living legacy,” Lockhart said.

According to Fauble’s father, there is a sense of calm in knowing that she is no longer in pain.

“It gives you a feeling that she’s not going to be homeless again or abused and not cold or hungry, and that she will no longer be out on the streets. That gives us a better feeling about the situation,” Fauble’s father, Michael Fauble, said.

Eight organs, including her heart and eyes, will be donated to others in need, allowing Fauble to live on via the bodies of others.

Fauble, a mother, leaves behind an 18-month-old boy who is being cared for by family.

Oscar Pena, 37, the motorist who hit her, was detained at his home on DUI and hit-and-run charges.

Her relatives told that instead of a funeral, a tribute would be held near the camp she visited.
