Incident Details:
- The collision occurred early Tuesday morning, March 12th, at approximately 1:13 am.
- Location: West Sahara Avenue, east of the intersection with Valley View Boulevard.
- A 34-year-old male pedestrian crossing Sahara Avenue outside a marked crosswalk was struck by a 2015 Nissan 370Z traveling eastbound.
- The driver of the Nissan fled the scene without providing any assistance or information.
- Sadly, medical personnel arriving at the location pronounced the pedestrian deceased.
Investigation and Arrest:
- Hours later: The vehicle involved in the incident, along with its driver, Angelo Pascua (29), returned to the scene.
- Mr. Pascua identified himself to LVMPD officers and was subsequently taken into custody.
- He currently faces charges of hit-and-run resulting in a fatality.
Current Status:
- Mr. Pascua has been booked at the Clark County Detention Center.
- The investigation into the collision remains ongoing by LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
- The intersection has been reopened.
