Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is investigating two separate shootings that occurred on May 6th and May 7th, 2024.
Early Morning Shooting on Tropicana Avenue
The first incident occurred shortly after 8:21 am on Tuesday, May 7th, on the 3000 block of East Tropicana Avenue. Two people were transported to the hospital following the shooting. One remains in critical condition, while the other person’s condition has not been released as of noon on May 7th.
The area remains closed to the public as the investigation unfolds. LVMPD assures the community that there is no active threat.
Teenager Arrested in Shooting Death
In a separate incident, LVMPD officers responded to a call around 4:00 am on Monday, May 6th. A caller reported that their 17-year-old son had shot and killed a friend.
Officers located the scene near the 1600 block of East St. Louis Avenue and found the victim deceased from an apparent gunshot wound inside a car.
The investigation determined the shooting to be intentional, and the 17-year-old suspect was arrested on a charge of open murder.
The identities of both the victim and the deceased in the Tropicana Avenue shooting will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
