LAS VEGAS – In an alarming development, Las Vegas authorities have apprehended an 18-year-old named Anthony Suazo after the FBI uncovered his alleged plans to carry out a mass shooting at his former high school. Suazo now faces a single charge of making threats of an act of terrorism and remains in custody with a bond set at $500,000, according to official records.
The indictment reveals that investigators became aware of Suazo’s intentions when he posted a message on the website Discord on April 14, stating his intention to commit a mass shooting. The specific excerpt from his post, “I’m airing my old school out. I think I’m gonna shoot up my old school tomorrow. If you go to Lincoln High School, I suggest you drop out by May 1st,” is cited in the indictment.
The indictment identifies Suazo’s former high school as Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Arkansas.
A jury trial has been scheduled for June 19 to address the charges brought against Suazo, ensuring that the seriousness of the alleged threats is thoroughly examined. This incident underscores the significance of maintaining stringent security measures within educational institutions to safeguard the well-being of students and staff.
