A teenager snowboarding on Mt. Charleston was killed by an avalanche 18 years ago. A snow wave swept the 13-year-old off a ski lift.
A spokesperson for Lee Canyon stated that they were aware of the incident. The Lee Canyon snow safety team stated that they closed the upper lifts around 2:40 p.m. Monday because of the snow’s high water content but not because of the incident.
