A man was found dead from apparent gunshot wounds late Sunday night near South Maryland Parkway and East Tropicana Avenue in Las Vegas, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene shortly before 10 p.m. after receiving reports of a man lying near a dumpster. Upon arrival, medical responders pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
Preliminary investigations by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Section suggest the victim was engaged in a conversation with several individuals in the area prior to the shooting. These individuals fled the scene before officers arrived.
The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
The Clark County coroner’s office will release the victim’s identity, cause, and manner of death in due course.
