North Las Vegas Police Say an Officer Shot and Killed a Man Wearing a Halloween Mask
LAS VEGAS – North Las Vegas police say an officer shot and killed a man wearing a Halloween mask.
After the fatal shooting on Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue, authorities held a press conference Monday night.
Someone called 9-1-1 to report a gunman near the MLK statue.
The caller couldn’t be found. The same person called again 15 minutes later.
A second person said a man pointed a gun at mini-market consumers and left.
The guy was wearing a Michael Myers mask from “Halloween.”
The officer ordered the subject to surrender, said police spokesman Alexander Cuevas. As witnesses watched, the suspect allegedly pulled out a revolver.
He was declared dead at the scene.
The officer suffered no injuries. Cuevas takes paid administrative leave.
He was unable to predict when the body camera footage would be disclosed.
The probe continues.
