LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officer was injured in a car fire on the Las Vegas Strip shortly after 4:30 p.m. Friday.
According to police, the driver of a white vehicle was going southbound on Las Vegas Boulevard when he collided with a palm tree in the center median.
According to authorities, the car caught fire while the driver was inside.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital. According to police, the officer was also taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The Clark County Fire Department assisted in putting out the fire.
As certain lanes remain restricted throughout the inquiry, expect slower traffic in front of The Venetian and The Mirage.
