Las Vegas residents woke to violence Friday morning after a shooting left one man dead and another critically injured in the city’s northwest valley.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) responded to reports of gunfire just after 5:07 am in the 4800 block of North Tioga Way, near Buffalo and Lone Mountain roads. Officers arrived to find two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds inside a residence.
A man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.
During a press briefing, LVMPD Lt. Jason Johansson revealed that multiple people were present in the residence at the time of the shooting. Investigators are currently working to determine if the two men shot each other or if a separate suspect was involved.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the LVMPD’s Northwest Area Command or Crimestoppers.
