Authorities are looking for a white utility van that fled the scene of a motorcycle incident on the Northern 215 Beltway on Wednesday.
The accident happened just after 9 p.m. on the 215 northbound Trooper Ashlee Wellman of the Nevada State Police, Highway Patrol, stated in a statement.
Investigators suspect a red Yamaha motorbike was speeding west on the interstate as it approached the Durango off-ramp.
A white utility van was driving west on the 215 in front of the motorbike at the same moment.
“At this time, it is unknown if the van conducted an unsafe lane change in front of the motorbike, causing the front of the motorcycle to collide with the back of the van,” Wellman said.
The motorbike rider was thrown off his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the spot.
The white vehicle did not stop to help. Anyone who observes a white utility van with damage to the rear or right rear is requested to call Highway Patrol at *NHP (*647) or Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555 and reference Case No. 221001403.
