LAS VEGAS – UNLV student-athlete Ryan Keeler was found dead in his apartment on Feb. 20. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call from UNLV officers requesting assistance.
Upon arrival, police found an empty prescription bottle at the scene. According to the report, Keeler visited the director of sports medicine at UNLV, who prescribed him medication on Feb. 17.
Defensive line coach Julio Garcia discovered Keeler unconscious and cold to the touch and called 911.
Police interviewed a friend of Keeler, who said that he had been feeling sick for the past week and was experiencing nausea. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
