Property Managers of the Hebron Apartment Complex Looking for Public Help Resolving Heating and Hot Water Issues

Apartment managers at the Hebron complex on Las Vegas Boulevard are appealing to the public for assistance due to ongoing problems with the building’s heating and hot water systems.

Since a local charity called Caridad Gardens took over the property over a year ago, Hebron, a low-income housing complex for veterans, individuals suffering from homelessness, and seniors, has been struggling to make ends meet.

“We inherited certain challenges when we took over the property,” said Merideth Spriggs, Caridad’s chief kindness officer. We’ve been having trouble tracking down replacement components for our boilers and need your assistance in sourcing a replacement motor for our boiler room.

Tenants are increasingly worried about these problems as cooler season approaches.

The lack of heat in the shower is “something you can’t put your finger on,” resident and Vietnam War vet James Rosser said.

Bill Monroe, a retired soldier who has lived on the farm for eight years, told 8 News Now that he is doing the best he can without heat. He also complained that the boilers never seem to work reliably.

He explained, “This particular boiler over here has a rapid shelf life, and it just seems like we go through them one after another, you know.”

There are three hot water heaters and one boiler in the building. One water heater has been repaired, but neither of the other two is functioning now.
