Southern Nevada Are Subject to Wind Advisory and Winter Storm Alert Due to an Incoming Cyclone

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – According to the National Weather Service, an oncoming Pacific system will pass over the area surrounding the Las Vegas valley starting Monday, bringing severe winds and issuing a winter storm watch.

Starting Sunday at 10 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for parts of Clark, Nye, Inyo, Esmeralda, and Lincoln counties on Monday.

The National Weather Service predicts persistent southerly winds of 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

A winter storm watch has been issued for the Spring Mountains and the Sheep Range as the system sweeps across the area beginning Tuesday at 6 a.m. According to the National Weather Service, it will rain until Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Wind gusts of up to 55 mph are expected, along with eight to ten inches of snow. According to the National Weather Service, blowing snow will be likely in the region, resulting in limited visibility and hazardous traffic conditions.

The Las Vegas valley will receive rain mostly on Tuesday, with chances continuing into Wednesday morning.
