NEVADA – A teacher at Cheyenne High School was arrested and placed on leave after Clark County School District police found a gun in her car at the parking lot.
Chantel Brown, 29, has been charged with animal cruelty and possession of a weapon on school property.
During an investigation of an animal left inside her vehicle, police found a firearm in her car. Brown has been a teacher with the district since 2018 and her next court hearing is scheduled for May 19.
Principal Anthony Nunez sent a letter to parents stating that the safety of the students is their number one priority and that they are cooperating fully with law enforcement in their investigation.
