LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – A male juvenile has been apprehended in connection with three robberies targeting students near Clark County School District high schools on the second day of school, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (Metro).
The robberies occurred near Spring Valley, Valley, and Durango High Schools on Tuesday afternoon. The first incident took place around 1:30 p.m. in the 5500 block of South Rainbow Boulevard, followed by another in the 7600 block of West Flamingo Road just moments later. A third robbery was reported in the 4800 block of Burnham Avenue approximately an hour later.
Metro identified a suspect vehicle and apprehended a male juvenile matching the description on Wednesday afternoon near Flamingo Road and Buffalo Drive.
While Nevada state law defines robbery as the taking of personal property by force or fear, Metro has not released specifics about the stolen items or whether any victims were injured.
Deputy Chief Jose Hernandez emphasized that the department believes this was an isolated incident and that a comprehensive safety plan is in place for students. He urged parents and students to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
