A motorcycle accident early Monday morning in the northwest Las Vegas valley resulted in the death of a 29-year-old man.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) reported that the crash occurred between 1:00 a.m. and 4:03 a.m. at the intersection of West Centennial Parkway and North Torrey Pines Drive.
Investigators believe the motorcyclist, riding a 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King eastbound on Centennial, lost control while navigating a curve. The rider and the motorcycle skidded into the east curb of Torrey Pines before colliding with a roadside reflective warning sign. Tragically, the motorcycle ignited upon impact.
Emergency personnel responded after a passerby reported the accident, but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
“This marks the 79th traffic-related fatality within LVMPD jurisdiction for 2024,” the department stated in a press release.
The investigation remains ongoing. LVMPD is urging anyone with information regarding the crash to contact the Collision Investigation Section at (702) 828-3595.
