LAS VEGAS – Authorities took over two dozen things from a Henderson house in connection with the 1996 shooting death of rapper Tupac Shakur. According to the warrant, the items include computers, iPads, bullet cartridges, and marijuana.
On Saturday, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department requested a District Court judge’s permission to search Duane Keith Davis, 60,’s Henderson home at 2204 Maple Shade St. According to the warrant, computers, cell phones, iPads, papers, and other Shakur-related things were requested.
Davis’ 2018 Netflix documentary “Unsolved: The Tupac and Biggie Murders” and 2019 book found a connection to Shakur’s murder. He claimed to have driven the rapper’s killer.
After leaving the MGM Grand in his BMW with Suge Knight, Tupac Shakur was fatally assassinated on September 13, 1996. At a traffic light, a Cadillac assailant shot Shakur’s BMW.
Orlando Anderson, Davis’ nephew, fought Shakur the night he was murdered. Anderson’s friend’s girlfriend’s backyard duffel bag had the same gun used in the shooting. The bag had a Las Vegas address.
According to the Los Angeles Times and Esquire, Orlando Anderson was briefly a suspect in the shooting inquiry before his 1998 gang-related death.
The search of Davis’ Henderson house is a major step in the investigation into Tupac Shakur’s murder. Authorities will examine the confiscated artifacts to shed insight on the decades-old cold case.
