LAS VEGAS – Throughout the valley, people of all ages are proudly donning pink attire to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Sig Rogich Middle School students and staff recently joined the cause by organizing their annual pink parade on Friday.

The vibrant event was led by the school’s jazz band, setting the tone for a memorable celebration where participants dressed from head to toe in various shades of pink.

In a related initiative, the UNLV Rebels will also be wearing pink at an upcoming game to show solidarity for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Suzie Harrison-Rollins, the principal of Sig Rogich Middle School, emphasized the importance of the pink parade as a valuable lesson for students and the wider community.

“We all need this, we need this at a young age,” said Harrison-Rollins. “We all need to have that awareness and just remember those people and know we’re coming together to find a cure and making a difference.”

The pink parade not only raised awareness but also generated funds during lunchtime to be donated to the Susan B. Komen Foundation. By supporting this renowned organization, the school community actively contributes to the ongoing fight against breast cancer.
