Warning to Parents About the Increase of Child-Targeted Cybercrime
LAS VEGAS – The Metropolitan Police Department of Las Vegas has issued a warning regarding a growing cybercrime that targets minors.
Officers indicated in a Twitter post that they are looking into more cases of “Sextortion,” which is when criminals try to extort their victims by threatening to divulge their sexual activities publicly.
Police said they are collaborating with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to create a cyber tipline for victims to report offenses.
