What Is Trendy at School? The First Electric School Bus for the CCSD

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (702 Times, NV Globe) – The first electric school bus has arrived in the Clark County School District!

Therefore, perhaps the report’s title should be “What’s Cool Getting You to School?”

According to the District, the daily operating cost of a typical diesel-fueled bus is roughly $60. a battery-powered bus? $10 a day.

Superintendent Dr. Jesus Jara says that while the CCSD is enthusiastic about the project and its collaborations with NV Energy, the Nevada Environmental Protection Agency, and the Clark County Department of Environment and Sustainability, they are most proud of the drivers who take our children and grandchildren to and from school every day:

“Our bus drivers are the first ones that our children see, and they are the last ones that our children see every single day as we operate the largest bus fleet in the country.”

The Superintendent had the chance to pose for pictures as well. See the video that goes with this article to see Dr. Jara operating one of the electric buses.

Sometime in the upcoming weeks, children will ride the first electric bus to and from Cimarron-Memorial High School as well as Katz and Hollingsworth elementary schools.
