LAS VEGAS – Winter storms are affecting holiday travel and prompting hundreds of airline flight delays and cancellations across the country.
By 4 p.m. Thursday, nearly 2,334 flights had been canceled across the country, and the figure continues to rise. According to FlightAware, a flight tracking website, at least 70 planes were canceled at Harry Reid International Airport.
Flight arrivals and departures at Reid International Airport may be found at this website. Airport officials advise travelers to arrive at least two hours before their flight’s departure time and to expect long lines.
According to FlightAware, Southwest Airlines has canceled more than 835 flights for Thursday, while another 1,133 are delayed. If flights are canceled, travelers can rebook through the airline’s website.
Most major airlines, including American, Delta, United, and Jet Blue, are waiving change fees and ticket discrepancies if travelers rebook their flights to avoid flying in poor weather.
Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, Denver International, Chicago Midway International, and Minneapolis-St. Paul International has the most cancellations and delays.
Parking at Harry Reid International Airport is expected to be in high demand, particularly in Terminal 1 and the Long Term garage. You can also get up-to-date parking information by calling (702) 261-5122.
