NEVADA – The Washoe County District Attorney’s office has announced the conviction of 19-year-old Julian Lupercio-Trejo on charges of attempted murder and battery with a deadly weapon. A jury found him guilty in connection with a shooting incident that took place in August.

According to prosecutors, Lupercio-Trejo shot a former co-worker who was with his ex-girlfriend at a stoplight located at North McCarran Boulevard and Sullivan Lane. The victim sustained four bullet wounds and suffered severe injuries, including partial paralysis and blindness in one eye.

The shooting incident left the victim with life-altering injuries, and doctors discovered the extent of the damage caused by the bullets. Lupercio-Trejo is scheduled to be sentenced in October for his actions.

The incident originally occurred in September 2022, when Sparks police arrested Lupercio-Trejo on multiple charges, including battery with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm. The shooting occurred on Sullivan Lane and McCarran Boulevard, where multiple shots were fired from a car.

The victim was transported to Renown Medical Center with serious injuries but is expected to survive. Following a thorough investigation, police arrested Lupercio-Trejo for his alleged involvement in the shooting.
