Teraughn Woodside has been taken into custody on various charges linked to child sexual exploitation and child pornography. The charges against him include child abuse for sexual exploitation, attempting to involve a child over 14 in a sexual performance, possession of child pornography, statutory sexual seduction by an individual 21 or older, distribution of child pornography, and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.
According to authorities, the Human Exploitation and Trafficking (H.E.A.T.) unit detectives were informed by the Washoe County School District (WCSD) about suspicions that Woodside was exploiting a young girl through social media.
Following an investigation, law enforcement officials discovered that Woodside was engaging in sexually explicit conversations with the girl and allegedly threatening her with physical and mental harm if she did not comply with his demands for sexual acts.
On March 5, the H.E.A.T. unit and WCSD police apprehended Woodside, who was reportedly in possession of a handgun at the time of his arrest. Moreover, it was revealed that Woodside had been in contact with multiple girls through various social media platforms.
Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to reach out to the H.E.A.T. unit at (775) 325-6470.
