Airport Officials at RNO Report the Busiest November in a Decade

RENO, Nev. (775 Times, NV Globe) – Reno-Tahoe International Airport reports the busiest November since 2008.

Construction will also have an impact on busy holiday travel.

This has resulted in the closing of the old passenger drop-off lanes, a reduction in the number of entrances, and a shortened ticketing hall.

“I know people are used to the Reno dash here where you could park and get to your gate in 30 minutes. There may still be sometimes you can do that but if you’re traveling during a heavy travel time, that’s not going to happen,” says Stacey Sunday, Director of Corporate Communications, Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority.

Airport authorities recommend that passengers come two hours early.

They also advise using tools such as their parking availability calculator before visiting.

When you arrive at the airport, keep an eye out for new signs telling you where to go.

According to the airport, there is no suitable moment to begin such development work.

They claim that all of the work being done is required to generate additional room in order to keep up with Northern Nevada’s expansion.

“There’s a lot of people moving here, businesses moving here, the airport hasn’t changed that much in the last 10 years and we’re really at the point now where we need to modernize need to expand need to match the growth of the region,” says Daren Griffin: President & CEO, Reno Tahoe Airport Authority.

The airport is currently extending its ticketing hall. They intend to install toilets, handicapped access, and other amenities.

That particular project is scheduled to be finished in early 2024.

Following that, they intend to improve rental car services, ground transit, and replace airline gates.
