NEVADA – A Carson City Sheriff’s Office booking report says a 39-year-old man was detained Sunday for business burglary and gross misdemeanor property destruction.
Timothy Neilson was arrested at 11:48 p.m. after a Shell gas station burglary in the 700 block of North Carson Street. The booking report states that someone broke the front glass to enter.
Officers found a candy rack and damaged glass outside the store. The report says deputies saw someone inside moving while the alarm sounded.
Over a megaphone, the northwest side of the structure was cordoned off. The suspect was arrested for inquiry after several minutes.
Deputies found energy drinks, uniforms, and hangers on the floor during the investigation. The suspect said he found a uniform and disguised himself. Other clothes were found.
The report indicates that Neilson informed deputies he had applied for a job at the gas station earlier but got furious, crumpled it, and threw it away. He said he was trespassed from the warming shelter and broke into the petrol station since he had nowhere else to go.
The reporting witnesses told cops they were traveling from Arizona and seeking for a motel when they saw the man break the front window of the company and walk inside.
Deputies showed the owner a suspect photo. The owner said the man was irate and threw away his job application. The owner found the trash can empty and the application gone.
Neilson was arrested for business burglary and property destruction. Bail: $22,637.
