NEVADA – The body of a 95-year-old man was found buried in a Pahrump backyard, leading to the arrest of the deceased’s own daughter on murder charges.
The Nye County Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation when concerns arose over the whereabouts of 95-year-old Bruce Brown, who had not been seen or heard from since April 2023.
Taking the investigation to Kansas City, Missouri, authorities interviewed Gennice Walker, his daughter, who was reportedly living off his Social Security and VA benefits. However, Walker’s reluctance to cooperate with investigators led to her immediate arrest on charges of larceny, as confirmed by officials from the NCSO.
In a grim revelation, human remains were unearthed from a makeshift coffin in the backyard of a Peggy Ave. residence on August 25 by Nye County deputies. Subsequent identification confirmed the body as that of Bruce Brown.
Currently detained in Kansas City, Walker is set to be extradited to Nye County in the coming days to face the charges related to her father’s death and the alleged financial exploitation.
Authorities at the Nye County Sheriff’s Office are urging anyone with pertinent information about this case to come forward by contacting them at (775) 751-7000. For those who wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers can be reached at (702) 385-5555.
