NEVADA – The Nevada State Police have reported that the driver of a car that crashed into the Carson River in the early hours of Monday morning has been arrested. The incident occurred on US-395 and Cradlebaugh Bridge at approximately 3:30 a.m. on June 12.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by authorities, a 1995 dark green Jeep Grand Cherokee with a sole occupant was traveling northbound on US-395. For reasons yet to be determined, the vehicle veered off the travel lane, passed through a property fence, reentered the same property, proceeded northward through another fence, and ultimately came to a stop in the river, running parallel to Cradlebaugh Bridge.
Fortunately, the driver did not sustain serious injuries as a result of the crash. However, they were subsequently arrested and taken into custody by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. At this time, the identity of the driver has not been disclosed.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the factors that led to the car’s departure from the roadway. Further details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
