NEVADA – A 43-year-old woman named Anika Leeann Porter admitted in July that she had been involved in narcotics trafficking and unlawfully possessed a handgun.

The Regional Narcotics Unit started looking into methamphetamine and heroin sales on February 8, which led to Porter’s arrest on nine charges.

The district attorney’s office said that during a search of her hotel room, detectives discovered multiple firearms as well as huge quantities of methamphetamine, fentanyl-laced heroin, and other narcotics, as well as evidence of drug trafficking, including scales, packing, and paraphernalia.

Deputy District Attorney Michael Vieta-Kabell said at sentencing that Porter posed a significant threat to the community because of his four prior felonies and large quantities of fentanyl and guns in his possession.
