NEVADA – A midtown Reno shooting incident led to a tragic loss of life and critical injuries for two individuals on Friday afternoon. Promptly responding to the scene near the intersection of South Virginia and Arroyo streets around 12:45 p.m., the Reno Police Department is actively involved.
While not disclosing identities, authorities clarified that the involved parties were acquainted. This disclosure aimed to reassure the public of no ongoing danger.
The altercation escalated, resulting in gunfire near 1320 South Virginia Street, later moving to the sidewalk by Alterations Connection, neighboring Beefy’s. Multiple shots were fired. Two victims reached a local hospital independently, while law enforcement rushed a severely injured third victim for medical care.
At 2:22 p.m., an update revealed the involved individuals’ familiarity, dispelling concerns of random violence. This eases potential threats to the public.
As the investigation advances, the section of South Virginia Street between Arroyo and Pueblo remains shut, causing local traffic disruption. Community members grapple with the incident as law enforcement seeks to uncover motives behind the confrontation and ensuing violence.
