NEVADA – In the early hours of Monday morning, a violent altercation in Deer Park, located at 1800 Prater Way in Sparks, resulted in two individuals being left in serious condition due to a stabbing incident. The incident unfolded at approximately 1:15 a.m. on September 4, prompting an immediate response from emergency crews.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers from the Sparks Police Department discovered two victims who had sustained stab wounds. Prompt medical attention was administered by Sparks Fire and REMSA personnel before both victims were swiftly transported to a local hospital due to the life-threatening nature of their injuries.
Law enforcement quickly located and apprehended the suspect, identified as 22-year-old Christofer Rice, a short distance away from the incident location. The arrest was executed without any further incidents. Subsequent investigative efforts unveiled that the suspect had prior acquaintanceship with both victims prior to the stabbing.
Christofer Rice has been incarcerated at the Washoe County Jail and is facing two counts of battery with a deadly weapon in connection to this incident.
Authorities are reassuring the community that this was an isolated incident and that there is currently no prevailing threat to public safety in the area.
