Reno, NV – A 34-year-old man is in custody for igniting multiple fires in west Reno last Friday, sparking safety concerns and potential damage.
Reno Fire Investigators disclosed that several individuals witnessed Clint Haris as he started small fires in the vicinity of Stoker Avenue and Cemetery Road on October 20.
Reports indicate that around 5:20 p.m. on that fateful Friday evening, Haris is suspected of igniting at least two small fires along Cemetery Road. Alert witnesses promptly informed Reno Police Department officers, who responded swiftly and managed to detain Haris.
Authorities have established a direct connection between Haris and the fires along Cemetery Road. Still, ongoing investigations are focused on determining whether Haris is responsible for another fire that occurred near I-80, close to Keystone Avenue, around the same time. Thankfully, the latter blaze was contained to less than an acre in size, and only one building faced a potential threat. Fire crews successfully safeguarded the structure from harm.
This incident serves as a reminder of the critical role vigilant citizens play in maintaining community safety. The timely reporting of suspicious activity can aid law enforcement and fire departments in responding swiftly to potential threats.
