NEVADA – The Nevada Department of Transportation is continuing its efforts to remove debris from a landslide in Lyon County.
The rockslide occurred on January 10, and since then, personnel have been attempting to clear it. A section of SR 208 in Wilson Canyon was closed due to the landslide.
According to NDOT, the rockslide was caused by heavy rains. The debris-covered around 400 feet of roadway.
Experts in rock removal have spent the past week removing unstable rock from the canyon. Crews will be present to dismantle and remove huge boulders.
As their work continues, the section of SR 208 between Hudson Aurora Road and SR 339 remains closed.
