Nevada Public Health Lab Opens Fallon Satellite Office
NEVADA – Fallon will soon be home to a branch of the Nevada Public Health Laboratory dedicated to providing health services to rural areas.
The social services building on West B Street is adjacent to the lab, and the lab itself is adjacent to a new emergency health department.
Health officials at the local and state levels have hailed this as a game changer for their communities in the countryside, where before, it would have taken days to receive test results.
This week the lab will begin offering COVID and flu testing, and preparations are already underway to expand their capacity to test for other infectious diseases.
