New Details Released From Accident Involving Hollywood Actor Jeremy Renner

NEVADA – The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is giving out new information about the accident Jeremy Renner was in.

People say that around 9:00 a.m., Renner was trying to get his truck out of his deep snowy driveway. Renner and his nephew, Alexander Fries, used a Pistenbully to pull the truck away.

Fries was driving the truck while Renner pulled it from the Pistenbully up his driveway to the north.

Once both cars were on a different street, Fries unhooked the Pistenbully from the tow chain before Renner drove away.

Renner then did a U-turn, and then the Pistenbully started to slide to the side. Several times, he moved it forward and then backward before it started moving forward again.

Renner saw the Pistenbully start to move toward Fries and the truck when he jumped off of it. He jumped back into the machine to stop it or change its course.

When he did this, the machine pulled him under the left-side track and ran over him. Fries got back into the Ford and tried to move it out of the way, but its door was hit, which pushed it back towards Renner’s driveway for about 45 feet until it stopped in a nearby snow bank.

Renner’s neighbors came out to help him and gave him first aid before calling 911. At 9:17 a.m., the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District was the first to get there. Other units followed a few minutes later.

Just before 10:00 a.m., a medical flight took Renner to Renown Medical Center. The WCSO says they don’t think alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
